Happy Thanksgiving!

Through out the year, there are only certain things I look forward to. NO, not my birthday! Although sometimes that can be pretty fun too! I'm talking about the 4th Of July, my daughters Birthday Bash which includes my wife and my sister-in-law(so you know that's a rockin' party for sure!), Thanksgiving and Christmas! And what's coming up this week? Thanksgiving of coarse!!

Ahh, that time of year where I starve myself the whole day before and part of the day of,
just  to enjoy that wonderful feast! Turkey with all the trimmings! Pumpkin Pie! Oh, man, and sooo much more! Unlike most people though, I'm lucky enough to celebrate it two days in a row! Thursday and Friday! Every year my family takes a trek into the city of Chicago to my sister-in-laws house where my wife's family gathers each year for their Thanksgiving feast which usually includes a couple Turkeys and a ton of delicious side dishes because her family is so big! Then, the next day it's over to my Mom's house where we do it all over again! Well with the exception of one Turkey because my family isn't quite as large as Amy's family is. But the food is still just as wonderful just the same! Now you may ask me how I can eat Turkey two days in a row. Truth be told, I could probably eat it every other day for the rest of my life and not be bothered by it! True, there are some people who just can't deal with it past one day, but I could eat it forever! At any rate, believe it or not, Thanksgiving means much more than just that plump, stuffed bird with all the trimmings. It's about celebrating the things in your life that you are most thankful for! As for myself, I'm thankful for many things! First and foremost, my family! Without Amy and the kids, my life would feel pretty empty. They are the greatest support system that any man could have and I truly am thankful for them all. I'm also thankful to have my Mom and my Step-Dad back in my life. We've been through many trials and tribulations over the years, but we've managed to get it back together and become a family once again. I am truly thankful for them, and grateful to have them back! Then there is my wife's family. These people are wonderful! From day one they accepted my son and I into their  wonderful brood and treated us like family right from the start! That within itself is truly rare this day and age. For them I am both thankful and grateful! Then there are all of my friends! After all, what is any person without great friends! Friends are people that stick by you and do just about anything for you within reason and are people that you'd return that favor for at any given moment. Really, I guess you could say that they are somewhat of an extension of your family. This season, I am enormously grateful to have a job! There are so many out there who are out of work this holiday season, and to them my heart and my prayers go out to all of them in hopes that they all find jobs soon to support their families and themselves. And if your reading this, maybe you too could find it in your heart to pray for them as well. They really could use all the help and support they can get. You never know, one day it could be you who needs the prayers and the help as well.

So there you have it! Everything I'm thankful for this Thanksgiving! As all of you are gathered with your loved ones over the Thanksgiving holiday, think about what you are most thankful for. I'd be willing to bet that once you sat down to do it, it wont take long to come up with a good list of things that you are most thankful for. The most important things are the easiest things to list first. From there, the rest should be cake! Now that I've shared with all of you what I'm most thankful for this Thanksgiving, stop over at my Facebook page and drop me a line on what you are most thankful for! I'd love to hear from you all! HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!!!
